Rotors for Digestion 

All Milestone rotors feature an enhanced ‘vent-and-reseal’ technology for controlling the inner pressure of all vessels with complete safety. The ‘vent-and reseal’ approach for the pressure release is the foundation of Milestone’s leadership in microwave digestion technology. This patented (US Patent 5,270,010) technology provides the operator with unsurpassed safety and performance capabilities: highest temperature and pressure, highest safety standards, ease of use, and very fast cooling (180°C to 40°C in 10 minutes). While other systems use membranes or burst disks that render a vessel useless after venting, the Milestone system releases only the excess pressure from the vessel. This ensures that there is no stress to the door of the microwave system and no loss of sample as could happen in the case of a membrane or disk bursting.


HIGH PRESSURE SK-15

The SK-15 is a high-pressure rotor featuring up to 15 TFM vessels with a volume of 100 ml and suitable for all applications. The SK-15 perfectly matches the laboratory needs to determine trace elements, thanks to its capability to digest large sample amount and its high temperature and pressure capabilities. The 15 positions high-pressure rotor ensures high quality digestion of even the most difficult and reactive samples, thanks to its unmatchable working condition of 300° C and 100 bar.
The SK-15 rotor is fully compliant with commonly used standard methods, such as the US EPA 3015, 3051, and 3052. Finally, a large selection of high purity quartz and TFM inserts is available for the SK-15 rotor for smaller sample amounts or to minimize the dilution factor of the analytical solution


HIGH THROUGHPUT ROTOR MAXI-44

The MAXI-44 is a high-throughput rotor featuring up to 44 TFM vessels with a volume of 100 ml and suitable to digest a wide range of samples including environmental and all organics, improving the throughput in the laboratories. The MAXI-44 is fully controlled by a contact less sensor that directly controls the temperature and pressure of each vessel.
It assures maximum safety and digestion quality. The MAXI-44 rotor is fully compliant with commonly used standard methods, such as the US EPA 3015, 3051, and 3052. Moreover, a large selection of high purity quartz and TFM inserts is available for the MAXI-44 rotor for smaller sample amounts or to minimize the dilution factor of the analytical solution.

 


HIGH PRESSURE DIGESTION

The high strength SK rotor body holds up to 12 digestion vessels made of high purity TFM. This rotor ensures complete digestion of any sample, including relatively difficult organic and inorganic refractory materials.

SK-12 is are specifically designed to provide chemists with incomparable performance capabilities and the highest standard of safety in closed vessel microwave digestion. The SK-12 is a medium pressure segmented rotor containing 12 vessels; it can reach 260°C.The high strength rotor body holds multiple digestion vessels made of high purity TFM. These rotors ensure complete digestion of any sample, including difficult organic and inorganic refractory materials.

The PRO-24 is a very versatile rotor, suitable for easy organic samples or environmental applications, according to the US EPA methods. It offers very easy handling and rapid cooling capabilities.

The PRO system offers you the greatest number of full sized 100 mL TFM microwave vessels available. This enables you to simultaneously process up to 24 liquid or solid samples using established microwave methodologies. PRO high throughput rotors is suitable for easy organic samples or environmental applications, according to the U.S. EPA method 3051A.

The MULTIPREP-41 is a very high throughput rotor holding TFM or PFA vessels, and can perform easy digestions or leaching-type reactions on a variety of samples, such as soils, sediments, wastewater etc.

The Milestone MULTIPREP-41 is a new high throughput rotor, suitable for the microwave acid digestion of any sample requiring moderate temperature and pressure conditions - typically 200°C and 20 bar - for a full recovery of the analytes of interest.
The MULTIPREP-41 is able to perform easy digestions or leaching-type reactions on a variety of samples including environmental samples (soil, sludge, waste water – according to the US EPA methods 3015a, 3051a and 3052 - filters), biological samples (tissues, food, feed, plants, agriculture products), and many others, such as paint chips and mineral leaches.
The MULTIPREP-41 combines the highest flexibility of operations with possibility to run up to 41 samples simultaneously: the highest sample throughput available from the market.

The Q-20 offers elevated performance specifically for ultra-trace analysis, unsurpassed ease of use, and full control of all digestion parameters in all vessels. This rotor holds up to 20 high-purity quartz vessels, minimizing acid diffusion through the vessels walls and in turn contamination and memory effect. It allows the complete digestion of a variety or organic samples, such as food and feed, plants, polymers, pharmaceuticals, clinicals, biologicals and oils.

HIGH TEMPERATURE

The Milestone NOVA-8 rotor is especially designed to work at sustained high temperatures up to 300°C, allowing for a safe and complete digestion of the most difficult matrices, such as ceramics and refractory materials.

Milestone's NOVA-8 high temperature rotor is able to withstand extremely high temperatures for long lasting complete digestion of the most challenging samples. Therefore, previously unachievable applications can be carried out. It is suitable to completely digest extremely difficult inorganic materials such as silicon carbide, metal oxides, geological, and refractory materials. It combines a breakthrough twin shielding vessel technology (ceramic and high-performance polymer shields) with an architecture optimized for free air flow and efficient cooling. An innovative external safety shield improve insulation further enhancing the overall safety of the system. OPEN VESSEL DIGESTION

Milestone’s exclusive MOD package converts the ETHOS EASY to a fully automated microwave open vessel digestion system, to rapidly and safely digest multiple large amounts of organic samples, such as food, feed, pharmaceuticals, polymers, oils, etc.

VACUUM EVAPORATION

With Milestone’s unique vacuum evaporation technology, the ETHOS EASY turns into a true microwave evaporator, allowing the user to carry out safe and complete evaporation of acids and organic solvents. No sample transfer is required: evaporation takes place in the same vessels previously used for digestion/extraction.


FUSION

The MultiFAST enables performing fusion in the ETHOS EASY. A variety of difficult samples, such as cements, ores, slag, sediments, soils, rocks, ceramics, pigments, and glasses, can be successfully prepared for XRF, AA and ICP analysis.

AUTOMATION

The Milestone vessel-handling module TWISTER is a step ahead toward automation in microwave digestion and it represents a perfect complement to the SK rotors.
The TWISTER eliminates the bottleneck associated with the handling of multiple digestion vessels, thus dramatically improving the sample preparation throughput. Furthermore, it improves the overall quality of digestion, as it assures constant and reproducible closing of the vessels.
