DESCRIPTION
The FP 1000 Cell Preparation System is available as a stand alone system or as part of the Beckman Coulter Integrated Cytometry Solution.
Using both pre-programmed and user defined methodologies, the system is capable of pipetting whole blood and staining reagents into daughter tubes. The FP 1000 can then perform RBC lysis and cell fixation on each daughter tube utilizing the IMMUNOPREP Reagent System or other lytic reagents such as VersaLyse and IOTest 3 Lyse.

Features

Rapid throughput on the system is achieved by many onboard subsystems:

  • Primary samples are continuously loaded utilizing tube racks derived from Beckman Coulter high throughput
    hematology analyzers
  • A dual arm robotic system is used for both simultaneous reagent addition and internal carousel transfer
  • For rapid throughput in batch mode preparation, two integrated TQ-Prep workstations have been incorporated
  • The system has a total capacity of three 32 tube carousels. This includes an input-output area for 3 carousels which can be loaded and unloaded without
    stopping reagent pipetting and sample preparation.

Patient ID tracking is totally preserved with the system. The primary sample tube is scanned for the sample ID, this ID is then compared to a list of exact sample IDs downloaded
onto the system at the FP 1000 workstation or via test request from the optional Laboratory Information System connection. The appropriate sample preparation
methodology and reagent panel is then automatically selected and the number of tubes required is defined by the system. Prelabeled daughter tubes are then scanned and
allocated to the original sample ID. These are then used in preparation of the flow cytometry worklist and tracked throughout the run.

Once prepared, the samples are ready for analysis on a flow cytometer. Worklists prepared by the FP 1000 are compatible with both Beckman Coulter FC 500 and EPICS
XL Series Flow Cytometers equipped with current software.
